I’m George Smith – a 25 year old music radio presenter & producer based in Yorkshire & Lincolnshire. You can currently hear me on-air on Fridays 6-10PM on BBC Radio Lincolnshire/Humberside/York, and Saturdays 10AM-2PM on BBC Radio Lincolnshire.
I grew up in Scunthorpe, studying music & media before going to university in Hull. I joined the student radio station at the University of Hull, which led to me presenting on local commercial radio in 2016 whilst still studying!
I now have my dream job – presenting my own shows on the BBC! Since 2018, I have presented the Friday evening show on BBC Radio Lincolnshire, a show which is now broadcast regionally across three radio stations. Since early 2020, I have also presented the Saturday morning show on BBC Radio Lincolnshire.
As well as presenting, I regularly produce local radio programmes, produce trails, jingles and promos as a BBC station sound producer and also work with the BBC Sounds music mixes team.
